Youth Ministry

The aim of Faith Development, catechesis, is to bring about in the believer an ever more mature faith in Jesus Christ, a deeper knowledge and love of his person and message, and a firm commitment to follow him. This aim spans a life time, every age and state of life.

The Diocese of Gaylord is committed to a strong, active and vibrant ministry to the youth of our diocese. We believe that ministry with youth is to be guided by three interdependent and equally important goals that form the framework for Catholic Youth Ministry as found in the USCCB document, Renewing the Vision.

They are:

  • To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
  • To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
  • To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Would you like to become certified as a Youth Minister?

The Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) is offering an online certificate in Youth Ministry.  This is a wonderful way for all those working with youth in our diocese to gain certification. Click on this link to go to VLCFF's website and read more about this opportunity.
