The Diocese of Gaylord is blessed to announce the appointment of Dr. Hilary Greiffendorf as principal at Bishop Baraga School in Cheboygan.
Dr. Hilary Greiffendorf, a native of southwest Michigan, is thrilled to begin service as principal of Bishop Baraga Catholic School in Cheboygan. She brings extensive experience in Catholic education with nearly 25 years in teaching and administration. She has taught at the elementary, secondary, and college levels, been a principal in Catholic elementary schools in Ohio and Rhode Island, and also supported teachers and parents through development of formation programs and curricular resources during her years as a college president and as the director of an institute at The Catholic University of America. She holds a B.A. in Teacher Education from Aquinas College in Nashville, a M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of Notre Dame, a M.A. in Religious Studies from Providence College, and a Ph.D. in Catholic Educational Leadership from The Catholic University of America. “I am excited to be back in my home state of Michigan, and at a school under the patronage of Venerable Bishop Baraga, a courageous and self-sacrificing evangelizer of the Great Lakes region,” she shares. "Since my parents enrolled me in Catholic school for kindergarten, I have been blessed to receive my entire academic formation in Catholic institutions. This has shaped me in profound ways and I am so grateful to continue in that great tradition of forming students for life in this world and in the next!"
