Vocations Bearing Fruit | Chance Armstrong

As I look back on the last year, I feel grateful for all that God has done for me. The first year of seminary was a period marked by great personal development—spiritually, intellectually and emotionally. It is through prayer, the Eucharist, fraternity among my fellow seminarians and direction from our formators that the Lord has been able to instill within me a greater love for him and his Church, strengthening my desire to serve him as a priest.

It has been a tremendous joy to see God's faithfulness through each trial this past year. The seminary experience has pushed me in so many different directions and demanded of me a deeper commitment to trust, humility and generosity of self. Through all of it, I have been blessed by your prayers and support.

This fall, I will begin my second year of formation as I enter the discipleship stage, where I will focus primarily on the study of philosophy while continuing to grow in the human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral dimensions of priestly formation. I am especially excited to continue discerning God's call, to deepen my understanding of the faith and to allow Christ to shape my heart more fully after his own.

Thank you for walking with me on this journey. Please continue to pray for me, for my brother seminarians and for an increase in holy vocations to the priesthood. Be assured of my prayers for you and your families as well.
