The 3rd Sunday of Advent | Joy
On the 3rd Sunday of Advent, or Gaudete Sunday, we are reminded of the joy the world experienced with the birth of Christ.
The third candle on the Advent wreath is pink, the liturgical color for joy. Also called the “Shepherd’s Candle,” we light this candle and rejoice like the shepherds who took the journey in joyful anticipation to Jesus in Bethlehem.
