September 19, 2025: The Most Reverend Jeffrey J. Walsh released a decree stating the territories of Saint James Parish in Whittemore, MI, and Saint Pius X in Hale, Michigan shall form one territorial parish, with the resulting extinctive union of the present Saint James Parish effective Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025.
