Deepen your faith on this fun-filled fall afternoon with Bishop Jeffrey Walsh. Join Bishop on the scenic Leelanau Trail for a leisurely bike ride that begins and ends with worship through eucharistic adoration and catechesis.
Day’s Agenda
1:30 pm | Eucharistic Adoration, Immaculate Conception, 308 North Cedar Street, Traverse City During adoration, riders can leave their bikes with the staff from Suttons Bay Bikes for a FREE bike check. |
2:15 pm | Bikers begin 11-mile ride to Shady Lane Cellars (Leg 1) |
3:30 pm | Rest stop at Shady Lane Cellars, 9580 E. Shady Lane, Suttons Bay | Eucharistic Catechesis by Bishop Walsh |
4 pm | Bikers depart for 6-mile ride to St. Michael the Archangel (Leg 2) |
5 pm | Eucharistic Adoration, St. Michael the Archangel, 104 South Elm, Suttons Bay |
5:30 pm | Refreshments, snacks and fellowship |
6 pm | Bikers return to Immaculate Conception, 17-mile ride (Leg 3) |

Non-Riders
Non-riding participants are encouraged to worship during adoration at either or both churches as well as the 30-minute eucharistic catechesis by Bishop Walsh at Shady Lane Cellars.
Bike Riders
Riders may bike all or part of the 34-mile trail. If riders choose to bike only parts of the course, the rider will be responsible for returning to their own cars.
Important note: During adoration, riders cannot wear bike shoes into the churches; stocking feet will be allowed.

- FULL event participation – adoration, catechesis and all 3 legs of the bike ride
- Adoration ONLY at Immaculate Conception in Traverse City, 1:30-2 pm
- Adoration ONLY at St. Michael the Archangel, Suttons Bay, 5 – 5:30 pm
- Eucharistic catechesis ONLY with Bishop Walsh, Shady Lane Cellars, 3:30 pm
- Bike ride – Leg 1 ONLY (Immaculate Conception to Shady Lane Cellars)
- Bike ride – Leg 2 ONLY (Shady Lane Cellars to St. Michael the Archangel)
Inclement Weather
There is no rain date. The event will be held in light rain. Registered participants will be notified the morning of the event if cancelled due to inclement weather in the Leelanau area. Updates will also be posted on DioceseofGaylord.org/PedalPraise
Fees
This event is FREE.
Things Riders Should Bring
- Helmet (required)
- Water bottle for during the ride.
- Riders who wear bike shoes, wear socks or bring change of shoes to enter the churches.
- Bring appropriate layers of clothing depending upon weather and for the length of ride that you choose.
- Bring appropriate snack food (protein bars, fruit, etc.), especially if you choose to participate in the full event (only providing light refreshments during fellowship time at 5:30 pm).
