The 2nd Sunday of Advent | Peace
On the 2nd Sunday of Advent, we light the second candle on our Advent wreaths, recalling the importance of the upcoming journey.
The second candle on the Advent wreath represents peace, the peace that would finally exist after the division of the kingdom in the Old Testament. Also called the “Bethlehem Candle,”—reminding us of the journey taken from Nazareth to Bethlehem before the birth of Christ and the peace to come.
Today, light the second candle on your Advent wreath, then reflect on the peace of the season as you bless your Christmas Manger or Nativity Scene: https://www.usccb.org/prayers/blessing-christmas-manger-or-nativity-scene
