A message from Bishop Walter A. Hurley, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Gaylord:
“As we approach this second weekend of Advent, I ask you to join me in prayer for those who will find difficulty experiencing the hope and joy of this season because they are facing the death of someone they love and the grief that accompanies that loss.
“In a special way, please pray for the four young people whose lives were lost, and the many injured, in the senseless and tragic school shooting this week at Oxford High School. We are deeply saddened by this devastating event that has impacted so many lives, and our hearts go out to the Oxford community. In your prayer intentions, please remember those who have died; their families and loved ones; the injured and recovering; school faculty and staff; law enforcement, first responders and medical personnel; and for all those who are left shaken and frightened.
"May comfort be found in Christ, our Redeemer and our hope.”
