Special Message from Bishop Walsh: Catholic Relief Services Collection March 18-19

Bishop Walsh shares a special message about Catholic Relief Services (CRS) special collection, to be held in all parishes of the diocese on the weekend of March 18-19:

“The CRS collection helps us carry out our responsibility to care for our brothers and sisters in need, particularly those facing great tragedy. Every day, CRS provides housing, education, immigration legal assistance, special pastoral support and access to the sacraments to the most vulnerable throughout the world. CRS is often among the first on site during emergencies and is there for long-term support and rebuilding. Recently, this includes critical assistance in Ukraine, Turkey, and Syria. Thousands of Ukrainian families continue to be in need due to the ongoing conflict, and families in Turkey and Syria face a humanitarian crisis because of the recent earthquake where the death toll has now surpassed 45,000. CRS directly provides for our brothers and sisters with pastoral care, safe shelter, and distributing hot meals, clothing, and hygiene supplies.

“Your support of Catholic Relief Services is lifechanging for our brothers and sisters as they face these unimaginable circumstances. Thank you for doing what you are able to support such a worthwhile cause.”
