Bulletin Announcement for June 1-2, Corpus Christi

The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) | June 2
The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi, reminds us of the spiritual unity given to us through the Eucharist— revealing the transformative power of Christ and emphasizing the depth of his love for us.

Today, let us pray the "Anima Christi," honoring the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist under the appearance of bread and wine:

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy Wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
In the hour of my death, call me,
And bid me to come to Thee.
That with Thy saints, I may praise Thee.
Forever and ever.
Amen.

The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus | June 7
In 1673, Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in her convent chapel in France. In 1856, Pope Pius IX added the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus to the calendar.

Jesus is still in search of our hearts. He wants us to know the "breadth and length and height and depth" (Ephesians 3:18). Today, look upon the Sacred Heart and allow Jesus to show you his generous and everlasting mercy.
