Seminarian Education Fund
Each August as we celebrate the feast of St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests, we take up a special collection in the Diocese of Gaylord to support our seminarians. You will soon be receiving a letter in the mail from Bishop Walsh inviting you to support our seminarians through prayer and a financial gift to the 2023 Seminarian Education Fund. This fund provides critical support for our seminarians’ education expenses as they prepare for the priesthood. Please pray for all those discerning a priestly vocation and consider supporting this special collection. Learn more and make a gift at: DioceseofGaylord.org/SeminarianFund.

Stewardship by the Book
“The law of Your mouth is to me more precious than thousands of gold and silver pieces.” says the Psalmist today. Does the amount of my offering suggest that I could honestly say the same?

Vocation View
Finding our vocation in life is like finding a buried treasure. We will do whatever we have to in order to be able to possess it. Finding the treasure is a gift; possessing it is our vocation.

Stewardship Reflections
“We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”  -  Romans 8:28

Do you really trust God?  Do you really believe that God will provide all that you need?  Faith is a challenge for everyone at times.  Putting our trust in God, in everything we do, in good times and in bad, means that God’s plan for our lives may be quite different than what we planned.  When one door closes, another one opens.  Trust in God, His plan is always better.

Family Perspective
The man in today’s gospel “sold all he had” for the treasure he found. Family relationships are “treasures” and demand our total personal investment. Invest yourself in the “treasure” of your family.
